Where To Eat if You Live On A Castlethorn Street - The Silver Spoon

This week we ventured to The Silver Spoon in Castleknock – just five minutes from our Riverwood Square development in Castleknock or ten minutes from our St Josephs development in Clonsilla, Dublin 15.

The sun was finally shining so we seized the opportunity to leave the office and check out somewhere new! The Silver Spoon is a small café situated in the Castlecourt Shopping Centre in Castleknock. Food is available to take away or they have a small number of tables to eat inside. We chose to eat in and made our way to the counter to order. There is no menu per se but a variety of pre-made sandwiches and dishes to choose from or you can have your sandwich, wrap or panini made-to-order.

I have to say what really struck me straight away in The Silver Spoon Café was how welcoming and friendly the staff were. We were greeted by a server with a wide smile and offered coffees immediately.We decided on the chicken quesadillas and a chicken, cheese and sundried tomato wrap with two side salads. The chicken quesadillas were baked to perfection and stuffed with tender pieces of chicken, peppers and cheese. My wrap was equally as delicious, and the two side salads complimented it perfectly. I opted for the classic broccoli and feta and a vibrant Santini tomato salad.

My only regret is that we didn’t get a plate of their sweet potato fries as I spent most our meal eyeing up the big plate for the people beside me! I’ve heard they do an incredible homemade sausage roll as well. ‘You haven’t eaten a sausage roll until you’ve tried one of these!’ a fellow diner exclaimed. All food is served on wooden boards which is a nice touch.

The Silver Spoon Café serves as the perfect spot to grab a coffee and a bite to eat after an invigorating walk in the nearby Phoenix Park. It is a delightful cafe with a friendly and relaxing atmosphere – it’s popularity evident by its busyness around lunch time. Our food together with a cappuccino and a bottle of sparkling water came to just over €20 making it a very reasonable place for a pit stop if you’re in the area.
